About

Hello! My name is Christopher Brind and I’m the director of BrindySoft.com Ltd.  Some people call me Chris, some people call me Brindy and some people call me other things …

I’m an experienced software engineer, application developer and software architect originally from England and now living with my wife in Falkirk, Scotland.

I’ve been in to technology since being just a young lad.  My mum often tells the tale of how I used to disappear to the local Co-op as a 5 year old boy to play and demonstrate the VIC-20 computers they used to have on sale.

In the course of my career I have worked for the following companies:

  • Derek Hunter and Partners Ltd, Cromford, Derbyshire, 2.5 years
  • Morse Plc, Derby, 6 years
  • Contracting, Glasgow, 2 years
  • Arum Systems Ltd, Edinburgh, 2.5 years
  • Freelancing & Contracting in Glasgow, 2 years

… and I’ve attended the following conferences:

  • TheServerSide.com Symposium, Las Vegas, March 2009, on behalf of Arum Systems Ltd
  • JAX London and OSGi DevCon, February 2010, on behalf of Arum Systems Ltd
  • Google IO, San Francisco, May 2010, self funded

In April 2009 I became founding member, secretary and regular attendee of the OSGi Users’ Forum UK.

On a personal note, I really enjoy the following activities:

  • Technology
  • Science Fiction
  • Games and Gaming (e.g. PS3, D&D, Games Workshop, Board Games)
  • Running and Walking
  • Guitar
