Charity

I’m a firm believer in ‘charity starts at home’, especially when it comes to financial donations.  However, I don’t mind donating my time, expertise and any spare server bandwidth to worthy organisations.

  • Laff off Stigma - Waverley Care’s Fringe based awareness drive for their HIV and Hepatitis C support charity. I provide hosting, implemented the web page for the site and created a ‘Wall of Tweeters’ using Google App Engine.
  • SWIWSCO – A Tanzanian licensed NGO dedicated to improving the lives of Women and orphaned children.  A simple WordPress setup hosted on my Linux VM.
  • The Tumaini Project - The Tumaini Project was set up in 2009 by Emma Paton, a university student from Scotland with the goal of raising money for a school in Northern Tanzania.  A  Wordpress installation hosted on my Linux VM and creation and configuration of Google Apps for Business to support the effort.

Kind thanks to Bytemark, my Linux VM hosts who gave me a free upgrade because of my charity site hosting.

If you need technical help for your charitable organisation please contact me.  If I can’t help, I might know someone who can.
